Roshni Naik RYT® 500 is a Canadian-Gujarati yoga and mindfulness instructor, specializing in Trauma-Informed Teaching. Roshni began her yoga journey 25 years ago for a more harmonious Mind-Body-Self balance. In 1992, she immigrated from her birthplace of Lusaka, Zambia to the beautiful West Coast of Canada, bringing a richly diverse cultural background that greatly influenced her teaching style. Roshni's deep-rooted connection with yoga led her to graduate from the 230-hour Yoga Teacher Training program offered by Jai Yoga Studio, British Columbia. Roshni is also a Certified Meditation Instructor, Yin and Pre-Natal Yoga Instructor, Restorative, Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor. She is currently enrolled in the Yoga Therapy Diploma Program at the Vancouver School of Healing Arts (VSOHA).

Roshni believes that, with humility and kindness, finding one's edge and exploring it is an enriching path toward a more balanced life. Recognizing that yoga is a harmonious blend of the mental and physical realms, her teaching philosophy centres around achieving balance and self-discovery through mindful movement and breath work in a safe, nurturing space. Roshni encourages her students to embrace challenges and tap into their inner strength by exploring the relationship between the ‘thinking’ mind and the ‘sensing’ body to discover an authentic inner Self (the Observing Self) that exists beyond the two.

Outside of yoga and teaching, Roshni deeply loves her family, her animals (including her three adopted dogs), nurturing her over-grown garden, travelling to the distant & quiet corners of the globe and reading almost everything she can. She co-owns a construction business with her partner of 30 years. Together, they have raised two kind and capable young adults who are currently learning, working and playing in British Columbia, Canada. Her diverse interests inspire her life-long love of learning, philosophy and teaching, which in turn benefits the wellness journey of her clients.

“It is my belief that as we cultivate a deeper sense of appreciation & calm within ourselves, it magnifies outward to change those around us and eventually, the greater world that we are all connected to.”
